Leverage, Or How To Make Money In Your Sleep
Everyone knows that it is possible to work and make money. The more we work, the more we earn. Let s look at some ways we have to let the power of leverage return more to us even when we don t work more. With leverage, money gets returned to us in a sort of a self-propelled fashion. It doesn t matter to leverage if we are not working hard, or even if we are not awake.Stockbrokers allow their clients to use leverage by buying stocks on margin. This means if you want to buy $1,000 worth of stock, your broker will lend you $1,000 more so you can buy twice as much. Therefore, if your stocks double in price, they become worth $4,000, and since you have only $1,000 of your money invested and $1,000 belongs to your broker, you have tripled your $1,000 to $3,000! You would have only doubled your money had you not been able to use the leverage provided by buying on margin.Commodity brokers allow their clients to make money by using a lot of leverage. For about $1,500 you can control 5,000 bushels, or about $30,000 worth of soybeans. Here, if the price of the soybeans rises 10%, you make a profit of $3,000. Of course, it can go the other way, too, and if it does, you lose big. That s how it is with leverage. Still, fortunes have been made in commodities futures trading and it is a superb example of using leverage.Another area where people can gain a large amount of leverage is through multilevel marketing. With multilevel marketing a person signs people into his down line. These people recruit and sell products for him, thus giving him the ability to make money with the leverage they provide.Probably, the most ubiquitous form of leverage is the leverage you gain when you put down $40,000 to buy a $200,000 house. Sooner or later most families make a similar investment. It is leverage because the mortgage allows you to control an asset that is 5 times as big as the investment you have made. Should the price of your $200,000 property double, not at all an unheard of event in real estate, you will have made $200,000 on your $40,000 investment, or a return of 500%! Now that's leverage! It's no wonder people like to invest in real estate! All these examples of leverage show ways to make money, even a lot of money, without doing more work. However, they all come with a potential downside. Certainly investing in stocks is a great thing to do, but the leverage found in stock investing isn't normally what one thinks of as very strong leverage. There is a lot of leverage in commodities futures trading but there is also an abnormal amount of risk. I find that it takes a certain type of person to trade commodities futures. Trading commodities futures isn t recommended for everyone. Multilevel marketing isn t recommended for everyone, either. Though many success stories have been written because of multilevel marketing, it is a type of business that many people never find success with.Buying a house on the other hand, is recommended for everyone, even if it is bought only to provide a place for someone to live. The price of real estate doesn't always go up, however. In the area that I live and invest in, real estate had a major slump between 1988 and 1993. In this time frame, real estate lost value drastically. Anyone who bought real estate in 1988, had to weather the storm, and if they did, they were richly rewarded by the mid '90s and they made out very, very well if they re still holding that real estate. With real estate, it always seems that you'll come out ahead and make money if you don't give up. Buying at the right time can make you a lot of money in a real hurry, but buying at the wrong time can severely slow down your ascent to wealth. If you do buy at the wrong time, all you can do is hold on tight and wait for a turn around. So far, throughout history, real estate prices have always broken sharply upwards when coming out of slumps. If you are able to weather a real estate down cycle until the market turns around, it will be well worth your perseverance because as the price climbs, you will gain leverage you need to make a lot of money in a real hurry. So go put down 20 percent, get a mortgage and go live in your new house. Then, go take a nap and dream of all those dollars flowing into your bank account!By: elathropArticle Directory: http://www.articledashboard.comEd Lathrop is a successful Real Estate investor. John Glase Carnegie Trading Group June 27, 2007 For Immediate Release
CLEVELAND- The Commodity Futures Trading Commission's (CFTC) comprehensive attempts to find fault with John C. Glase, former President of the Carnegie Trading Group, through a Motion for Reconsideration of a federal judge's ruling was denied by United States Sixth District Federal Court Judge Donald C. Nugent. The CFTC's request for further injunctive relief against Glase was also denied. The Motion followed a ruling that resulted from a bench trial held before the Court in June, 2004. Glase, a 34-year veteran of the commodities industry, retains his Series 3 Commodities License and the ability to continue his distinguished career in the industry. The Court found "no substantial likelihood that Mr. Glase will commit or permit any other employee to commit any future violation" of the Commodity Exchange Act. In his February 2007 ruling in case no 1: 04 CV 1403, the Honorable Donald C. Nugent stated that, " Mr. Glase operated Carnegie for seven years and had been involved in commodities for more than 30 years without any violations or problems." Judge Nugent further ruled that "when a movant [the CFTC] simply repeats arguments previously presented or presents arguments or law which originally could have been argued, then the movant's proper recourse is an appeal to the circuit court." The Commodity Futures Trading Commission did not appeal to the circuit court and the statutory time frame for such an appeal has expired.
Forex Charts Why Trying To Predict Forex Trading Will See You Lose
One of the biggest mistakes any trader can make is to try and predict currency prices it has never and will never work. If you try and predict you will lose and lose quickly, however if you want to win you can but you must: Treat forex trading as an odds game. First let s look at why predicting is doomed to failure. It s obvious that if you could predict prices in advance there would be no market, as we would all know the price in advance! Everyone would make money and that is not the case in any free market. Let s look at some dumb predictive theories. Let s start with the king of them all - Elliot wave. Elliot said he has an objective scientific theory and then tells people to make subjective judgements Well that s not an objective theory as an objective theory would tell you EXACTLY what to do. Another great one is the Fibonacci number sequence. All those levels that magically are supposed to hold and they do sometimes, but more often than not they don t. There are many more including the numerous e-books and currency trading systems that are sold by vendors promising you the secrets of forex success for a few hundred dollars. Think about it: If their currency trading systems were any good, they would not be selling the system, they would be to busy making money to bother you for a few dollars. Many forex traders don t use the above theories, but they still love to predict. Here is a typical scenario. They see prices dip to support and buy. They hope that support will hold and lose. Now if you want to trade and win pay attention! If prices dip to support and you think the level is going to hold, don t buy and hope, get confirmation and trade with the odds - this means looking at price momentum. Price momentum MUST support your view before you enter and execute your trading signals. What you need to look for if buying into support is, for price momentum first to turn up then enter your trade this way you have the odds in your favour. You re not predicting and hoping, you are trading on confirmation of price. So forget predicting and hoping, trade on confirmation of price momentum and get the odds in your favour. Two great momentum indicators to look at are: The Relative strength Index (RSI) and the stochastic if you don t know what they are and how to use them, check our other articles. DON T PREDICT AND HOPE TRADE THE ODDS!If you want to win, you need to trade with price momentum and get the odds in your favour. If you want to predict and hope then get ready to lose - its as simple as that.By: Monica HendrixArticle Directory: http://www.articledashboard.comGRAB 3 X FREE TRADER & FREE TRADER PROFITS NEWSLETTER On all aspects of becoming a profitable trader including features, downloads and some critical FREE Trader PDF's and more FREE Forex Education visit our website at www.net-planet.org/index.html

Current Mortgage Crisis Creates Opportunities
In the financial world, problems often carry the seeds of opportunity. For example, concerns about the ability of subprime borrowers to repay their mortgages are having a significant impact on our economy, negatively affecting not only the mortgage industry, but the overall stock market as well. The potential glut of foreclosed homes threatens to further lower housing values and put an additional burden on borrowers with less-than-perfect credit, who may find it even more difficult to secure home financing. One solution is a private mortgage, also called a cash flow, seller-financed note. Once common, this financing option is making a comeback. The idea is a simple one. Since traditional financing may not be an option for some homebuyers, the entire transaction takes place between the buyer and the seller, leaving the balance of the sale due over a period of time. Let's say I've identified a buyer for my home. Just a few months ago, this buyer would have easily qualified for a subprime mortgage. Now, because of the large number of defaults, my buyer can't qualify. While I could simply leave my house on the market and wait for another buyer, I can also consider private financing. It works like this. Rather than simply accepting a lump-sum check from a bank or mortgage company, I agree to carry a loan for the buyer. Typically, the buyer will be required to come up with a down payment-just as in a traditional mortgage-but I get the down payment and the subsequent payments with interest. A typical contract might look like this: I want to sell my home for $150,000 and I have an interested buyer. The buyer is able to put down 20 percent-or $30,000 -leaving a balance of $120,000. We agree to terms of 9 percent (remember, this person's credit is damaged, so he or she will not qualify for the best rates) for 30 years, and I begin receiving payments of $965.55 each month. If I keep the loan for 30 years, I'll receive nearly $1,000 each month and a total of more than $227,000 in interest over the life of the loan.People often worry about what might happen if the person they sell their home to stops making payments. While this is not the best scenario, it can be profitable. For example, if the lender makes 24 payments and defaults, you've received a down payment of $30,000 and payments totaling just over $23,000-and you have your house back. Perhaps it's even appreciated in the last two years, so now you can sell it for $155,000 and begin the entire process again, but you've already made more than $50,000.Finally, if you find you need your cash earlier than waiting for the loan to come full term, there is a large and growing market among investors who are actively purchasing these types of seller-financed notes.By: Wendy MitchellArticle Directory: http://www.articledashboard.comFor more information, visit www.dalbeyeducation.com. Comparing Forex Brokers
Forex brokers are individuals or institutions that offer a range of forex services like management of your accounts and execution of orders. As your success in the forex trading largely depends on the brokerage services, you must take your decision after comparing different forex brokers. These days you will find many websites that help you to compare forex brokers. There are few basic parameters, like minimum deposit required to open an account, maximum leverage offered, spread of major currencies, commissions charged, number of pairs offered, and the availability of operating a mini account etc which you must consider while selecting your broker. Identifying your personal criteria for comparing the forex brokers can help you in visualizing the merits and demerits of their services. The first one is to find the brokers who are registered with regulatory agencies like Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) and are member of NFA. These agencies were made to protect the public against fraud, manipulation, and abusive trade practices. While comparing the forex brokers, you must verify the CFTC registration and NFA membership status of the broker and find out their disciplinary history. Compare the forex brokers based on their reputation in the market. If it is part of a large group of companies, you can have more confident since the group itself will keep a check on the broker. The longer the broker has been active on the market, the more you can gather feedback from traders who have used their services. The third step for comparing the forex brokers is to check out the types of account you will be able to open. The broker must provide demonstration accounts or "demo accounts", which allows you to test the trading platform and the related work environment. They should also have an option of opening a mini account. The next step will be to compare the forex brokers on the basis of standard accounts they are offering. As in these accounts, the minimum capital is higher than the mini account, the leverage is less important. Some brokers may also offer to open an account in various currencies like euro, dollar, yen, etc. But if you decide to trade in one currency that is not that of your own country, you must consider the exchange rates. Next will be to find out if the broker is asking for a commission. Most of the brokers offer commission-free trading. So compare the brokers to see if they are offering any additional services. Spread which is the difference between the sell quote and the buy quote is another important criteria for comparing the forex brokers. You can negotiate the spread with the broker if you plan to trade large volumes. The spread is generally fixed, but at times can vary according to market conditions when volatility changes. Simply quoting the lowest spread does not ensure that you actually get the lowest one. Proper and timely execution of your orders and transparencies in transaction can make the spread actually tight. Leverage allows you to multiply your position on the market. While comparing the forex brokers find out the leverage they offer. But you must remember that the more you increase your leverage, the more you increase the risk. Margin and rollover are other important factors for comparing services of the forex brokers. Each broker has his own "margin call" policy in closing your positions. This you can compare between several forex brokers to find out the best one. The rollover fees are negligible but can add up in the long term.
How to Use Barriers to Land Profitable Trades In the Forex Market
To learn the ways in which traders can determine areas where many barriers are can make a trader a good profit. Many kinds of cost barriers are in the FX market. It is ordinary for currency pairs to change direction at these barriers. When traders learn the ways they can put them together, traders may create a system of trading with higher probabilities of success. A few barriers contain resistances levels, support levels, Fibonacci levels and psychological barriers. Barriers on trend lines and at pivot points can also enhance our observation. Now we will examine the various kinds of barriers that are common in the Forex market. Support and Resistance Levels Support and resistance levels are huge turning points that the market has consistently respected in the past. When the market respects them more, then they become stronger Support is identified as the turning point where the buyers put themselves at the top which made the currency pair go up. Resistance is any level where the market finished rising and turned down. Support and resistance levels on larger time charts are considered more significant than those on smaller time charts. Psychological Barriers Psychological barriers are identified as huge numbers. Any numeral ending in 50 or 00 is a significant barrier. Any number ending with 000 is more significant. You will be in wonder at how much a currency pair exhausts itself and turns within a few pips of a psychological barrier. Fibonacci Levels Fibonacci lines are frequently used to determine if a point has the potential to reverse. Begin with your larger time charts and make Fibonacci lines on major moves. Drill down and mark all smaller moves. See where the Fibonacci lines, psychological barriers and support and resistance lines match. Trend Lines Make trend lines to put a mark on all major moves and then work your way down to smaller trends. If you ever run into trend lines that go in the same direction, mark them. To do this, put lines along the lowest points of an upward trend and along the tops of a downward trend. Pivot Points Most charting packages have either a calculator or a tool that plots your points where it can pivot. These are areas where the currency pair is likely to turn. Most tools and calculators offer several numbers both below and above the current levels of the currencies you are following. Drawing lines to mark the various barriers that we always encounter in the foreign currency market can aid us in identifying where a pair is likely to turn. Take note of those levels where multiple barriers correspond. This increases the chance of having success while trading. If you have many barriers that connect at a certain point, then it is very significant To find out more information about these barriers and their application on your charts, check out our website and www.lotsofpips.com.About the AuthorJARED PASSEY has worked with hundreds of forex traders, has created several successful strategies, trades professionally AND manages a foreign exchange fund. Forex - You Need A Real System!
Although it has been some years since I was actively involved in trading, I have just returned to the markets and have begun to trade a small account on my own behalf. This has perhaps given me a slightly skewed perspective of the markets, almost like a new entrant, but one with a lot of experience. There have been some big changes whilst I have been inactive, not least in the number of online brokerages fighting for every dollar. But many things stay the same, at the heart of which is one, I guess, unbreakable truth. Trading is basically a very simple business, with any trading stocks, options, FOREX, whatever only really involving three steps:1. Find several possible trades evaluate them and decide which to go for,2. Calculate how much to trade, and decide at what points to enter and exit the market3. Keeping an eye on, or monitoring, open market positionsNow, these three steps were basically all there was to it a few years ago, and they still And, guess what, people are still getting totally bogged down right here, at this early stage of the trading process, generally, for one of two reasons. The first possible reason is that they simply are not aware that these are the steps involved in the trading process, or (the second reason) they have no clearly defined rules for actioning these steps. Thus, less experienced, more nervous, traders can often take hours to evaluate a small number of potential trades.Experienced day traders, on the other hand, are fully aware that, with little time available to execute their trading, they must have a process plan and they must stick to it.A day trader will set out his (or her) plan of action something like this:1. Recognize the opportunity, enter the market2. Stay in the trade for as long as possible if it is going for him or3. Get the heck out of there with minimum losses, as soon as it is clear it is going to go the wrong wayThat s it! That s essentially what a day trader in any market was doing years ago, and that is what a day trader is still doing today, with little or no change to their working practices brought about by the vastly more advanced technology of today.Savvy day traders learn very quickly that they must plan ahead of time, so that they are in prime position to take full advantages of the opportunities that occur in real time. Thus, day trading, which on paper at least is a pretty dangerous and risky manner of working markets is, in fact, one of the most disciplined trading schools! By the nature of market movements and the way they operate, day traders simply cannot afford to run their trading business on a wing and a prayer!
Perks of Automated Forex Day Trading
Are you interested in automated forex day trading? There are many things that you should know about automated forex trading, and this is a great place to learn about it. This means that there are no lags and fewer complications when trading and these results to more income generated. There are even instances wherein the window of opportunity is just a few milliseconds! Analyzing where the market will go in the next 15 or so minutes is impossible without using an automated forex trading system.- Improved liquidityLiquidity is greatly improved by the use of automated trading systems. This can be deduced by observing the behavior of the futures exchange market after employing an automated forex trading system.- SetbackTraders are foreseeing that a problem may arise when the time comes that all traders will adopt the automated system. The volume of orders may be so great that the existing bandwidth as well as current equipment used may not be able to accommodate this influx of information in real time. Existing systems might be able to carry the load and crash which will result to chaos in the market. As of now, safety controls have been created and set in place to prevent this scenario from happening.- Risk ManagementAnother big issue that concerns forex traders is risk management. Even automated forex trading systems require a risk management tool to ensure that there are no errors while trading. Risk management tools requires that before opening a position, checks should be conducted to ensure that no excessive correlation is present in already existing positions. To be 100% sure that the check is accurate and free of error, the whole system must first be synchronized. But as the technology used in forex trading progresses and evolves, these will no longer be issues to be concerned about. There are even instances wherein the window of opportunity is just a few milliseconds! There are instances wherein the trader is not in his desk and the opportunity suddenly presents itself, while sometimes a trader will skip deals for a while if he recently came from losing deals. These factors are eliminated by an automated system. These are some of the things that you should know about automated forex day trading. introduction to Technical Analysis
Technical analysis is a method of forecasting price movements by looking at purely market-generated data. Price data from a particular market is most commonly the type of information analyzed by a technician, though most will also keep a close watch on volume and open interest in futures contracts. The bottom line when utilizing any type of analytical method, technical or otherwise, is to stick to the basics, which are methodologies with a proven track record over a long period. After finding a trading system that works for you, the more esoteric fields of study can then be incorporated into your trading toolbox. The examination of past price movements to forcast future price movementsAlmost every trader uses some form of technical analysis. Even the most reverent follower of market fundamentals is likely to glance at price charts before executing a trade. At their most basic level, these charts help traders determine ideal entry and exit points for a trade. They provide a visual representation of the historical price action of whatever is being studied. As such, traders can look at a chart and know if they are buying at a fair price (based on the price history of a particular market), selling at a cyclical top or perhaps throwing their capital into a choppy, sideways market. These are just a few market conditions that charts identify for a trader. Depending on their level of sophistication, charts can also help much more advanced studies of the markets. On the surface, it might appear that technicians ignore the fundamentals of the market while surrounding themselves with charts and data tables. However, a technical trader will tell you that all of the fundamentals are already represented in the price. They are not so much concerned that a natural disaster or an awful inflation number caused a recent spike in prices as much as how that price action fits into a pattern or trend. And much more to the point, how that pattern can be used to predict future prices.Technical analysis assumes that:* All market fundamentals are depicted in the actual market data. So the actual market fundamentals and various factors, such as the differing opinions, hopes, fears, and moods of market participants, need not be studied.* History repeats itself and therefore markets move in fairly predictable, or at least quantifiable, patterns. These patterns, generated by price movement, are called signals. The goal in technical analysis is to uncover the signals given off in a current market by examining past market signals. * Prices move in trends. Technicians typically do not believe that price fluctuations are random and unpredictable. Prices can move in one of three directions, up, down or sideways. Once a trend in any of these directions is established, it usually will continue for some period. The building blocks of any technical analysis system include price charts, volume charts, and a host of other mathematical representations of market patterns and behaviors. Most often called studies, these mathematical manipulations of various types of market data are used to determine the strength and sustainability of a particular trend. So, rather than simply relying on price charts to forecast future market values, technicians will also use a variety of other technical tools before entering a trade. As in all other aspects of trading, be very disciplined when using technical analysis. Too often, a trader will fail to sell or buy into a market even after it has reached a price that his or her technical studies identified as an entry or exit point. This is because it is hard to screen out the fundamental realities that led to the price movement in the first place. As an example, let's assume you are long USD vs. euro and have established your stop/loss 30 pips away from your entry point. However, if some unforeseen factor is responsible for pushing the USD through your stop/loss level you might be inclined to hold this position just a bit longer in the hopes that it turns back into a winner. It is very hard to make the decision to cut your losses and even harder to resist the temptation to book profits too early on a winning trade. This is called leaving money on the table. A common mistake is to ride a loser too long in the hopes it comes back and to cut a winner way too early. If you use technical analysis to establish entry and exit levels, be very disciplined in following through on your original trading plan.Price chartsChart patternsThere are a variety of charts that show price action. The most common are bar charts. Each bar will represent one period of time and that period can be anything from one minute to one month to several years. These charts will show distinct price patterns that develop over time.Candlestick patternsLike bar charts patterns, candlestick patterns can be used to forecast the market. Because of their colored bodies, candlesticks provide greater visual detail in their chart patterns than bar charts.Point & figure patternsPoint and figure patterns are essentially the same patterns found in bar charts but Xs and Os are used to market changes in price direction. In addition, point and figure charts make no use of time scales to indicate the particular day associated with certain price action.Technical IndicatorsHere are a few of the more common types of indicators used in technical analysis:Trend indicatorsTrend is a term used to describe the persistence of price movement in one direction over time. Trends move in three directions: up, down and sideways. Trend indicators smooth variable price data to create a composite of market direction. (Example: Moving Averages, Trend lines)Strength indicatorsMarket strength describes the intensity of market opinion with reference to a price by examining the market positions taken by various market participants. Volume or open interest are the basic ingredients of this indicator. Their signals are coincident or leading the market. (Example: Volume)Volatility indicatorsVolatility is a general term used to describe the magnitude, or size, of day-to-day price fluctuations independent of their direction. Generally, changes in volatility tend to lead changes in prices. (Example: Bollinger Bands)Cycle indicatorsA cycle is a term to indicate repeating patterns of market movement, specific to recurrent events, such as seasons, elections, etc. Many markets have a tendency to move in cyclical patterns. Cycle indicators determine the timing of a particular market patterns. (Example: Elliott Wave)Support/resistance indicatorsSupport and resistance describes the price levels where markets repeatedly rise or fall and then reverse. This phenomenon is attributed to basic supply and demand. (Example: Trend Lines)Momentum indicatorsMomentum is a general term used to describe the speed at which prices move over a given time period. Momentum indicators determine the strength or weakness of a trend as it progresses over time. Momentum is highest at the beginning of a trend and lowest at trend turning points. Any divergence of directions in price and momentum is a warning of weakness; if price extremes occur with weak momentum, it signals an end of movement in that direction. If momentum is trending strongly and prices are flat, it signals a potential change in price direction. (Example: Stochastic, MACD, RSI)
Forex Market Drivers
How Interest Rate Increases Drive Currency SpikesA common way to think about U.S. interest rates is how much it's going to cost to borrow money, whether for our mortgages or how much we'll earn on our bond and money market investments. Currency traders think bigger. Interest rate policy is actually a key driver of currency prices and a great "starter" strategy for new currency traders.Fundamentally, if a country raises its interest rates, the currency of that country will strengthen because the higher interest rates attract more foreign investors. When foreign investors invest in U.S. treasuries, they must sell their own currency and buy U.S. Dollars in order to purchase the bonds. If you believe U.S. interest rates will continue to rise, you could express that view by going long U.S. Dollars. If you believe that the Fed has finished raising rates for the time being, you could capitalize on that view by buying a currency with a higher interest rate, or at least the prospect of relatively higher rates. For example, U.S. rates may be higher than those of Euroland now but the prospect of higher rates in Euroland, albeit still lower than the U.S., may drive investors to purchase Euros.Capitalize on Rising Gold Prices with Currencies It's not hard to understand why we've experienced a run-up in gold prices lately. In the US, we're dealing with the threat of inflation and a lot of geo-political tension. Historically, gold is a country-neutral alternative to the U.S. dollar. So given the inverse relationship between gold and the U.S. Dollar, currency traders can take advantage of volatility in gold prices in innovative ways. For example, if gold breaks an important price level, one would expect gold to move higher in coming periods. With this in mind, forex traders would look to sell dollars and buy Euros, for example, as a proxy for higher gold prices. Moreover, higher gold prices frequently have a positive impact on the currencies of major gold producers. For example, Australia is the world's third largest exporter of gold, and Canada is the world's third largest producer of gold. Therefore, if you believe the price of gold will continue to rise you could establish long positions in Australian Dollar or the Canadian Dollar - or even position to be long those currencies against other major countries like the UK or Japan.Translating Rising Oil Prices to Profitable Currency MovesEquity investors already know that higher oil prices negatively impact the stock prices of companies that are highly dependent on oil such as airlines, since more expensive oil means higher expenses and lower profits for those companies. In much the same way, a country's dependency on oil determines how its currency will be impacted by a change in oil prices. The US's massive foreign dependence on oil makes the US dollar more sensitive to oil prices than other countries. Therefore, any sharp increase in oil prices is typically dollar-negative.If you believe the price of oil will continue to increase for the near term, you could express that viewpoint in the currency markets by once again favoring commodity-based economies like Australia and Canada or selling other energy-dependent countries like Japan.

This means that there are no lags and fewer complications when trading and these results to more income generated. Achieving this level of efficiency is very hard to do by manual means especially if the decision to trade or not to trade can only be done in a time window of a few seconds. Why Trade the Forex Market
Trading the Forex market has become very popular in the last years. Technology advances like the internet have spawned this new trading craze, where anyone with a secure internet connection prepared to undertake a small amount of training can engage in trading foreign exchange on the forex market. Before the Internet, only corporations and wealthy individuals could trade currencies in the Forex market through the use of proprietary trading systems of banks, often through private banking. The foreign exchange market is one of the largest in the world if not the largest. It is more than 3 times larger than the stock/equities market and more than 5 times bigger than futures, give Forex traders nearly unlimited liquidity and flexibility. It has been estimated that approximately $2 trillion USD of currency exchanges hands each and every day. The foreign currency markets are very liquid because worldwide, the most powerful international banks provide a market around the clock. The Global foreign exchange market daily averages of the Bank for International Settlements in 1998 were $660 billion and now have increased to $2.3 trillion (2006). There is really no insider information in the forex markets. Since exchange rates are calculated by actual money flow as well as by the outlook of financial flowage, which takes into consideration such things as inflation, GDP changes, trade and budget deficits and surpluses, as well as interest rates, it would be difficult to come across so-called 'insider information'. All of these factors are self-evident, though different projected outlooks may prove more accurate than others. There is less room for market manipulation is there may be for thinly traded stocks. A equally important property of forex market is the fact that trends in forex market last longer and are more clearly defined than in any other trading instrument. Analysis of forex market charts also often displays identifiable chart patterns of price movement and once a pattern is established, the trend or pattern becomes the most probable course of future price action until the market changes. Because the FOREX market is so huge, there is no possibility of someone controlling the market price for a long time. When there are a lot of buyers and a lot of sellers, you can expect to buy or sell at a price that is very close to the last market price. The market maker in the forex market is usually a bank or brokerage company that provides during the trading day a bid and ask price. Example of forex market makers include CMS Forex, GFS, Forex, Forex Capital Markets (FXCM), and Global Forex Trading, all of which are regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) of the USA. Brokers offer clients access to online FX trading system, platform or software that can make it easy and fun to trade the market and usually there are usually no commission charges. With these trading systems and platforms you can trade the forex markets for free using the same state-of-the-art software packages that professional Forex traders use to help them make real-time, live currency trades. So individuals with a few hundreds of their own currency hope to buy and sell something for a smiling profit. Speculators trade to make a profit by purchasing one currency and simultaneously selling another. In conclusion I think the FOREX market is one of the best investment opportunities around today. There are great opportunities in the FOREX market because of the constant movements of the exchange rates. There is no surprise that more and more traders are turning to the foreign currency market to take advantage of the fluctuation in exchange currency rates as a way to speculate and trade to increase their capital and wealth.

How to Find a Broker for the FOREX Trading Market
It's not always easy to know what to look for in a broker in any market, much less a market as complex as the FOREX. But, if you want to trade in FOREX you need a broker. While it might be tempting to simply ask the brokers what they can do for you, you can't always depend on them to give you a straight answer. Here are a few things to consider when choosing your broker. You will want a broker that has low spreads. Since FOREX brokers don't charge a commission, this difference is how they make money. Low spreads will save you money. Along with this, you should be looking for a broker attached to a reputable institution. Unlike equity brokers, FOREX brokers are usually attached to large banks or lending institutions. The broker should also be registered with the Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) as well as regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Once you've narrowed your choices down to brokers that won't cost you too much, and that are reputable, consider the trading tools that they are offering you. FOREX brokers have many different trading platforms for their clients, just like brokers in other markets. These often show real-time charts, technical analysis tools, real-time news and data, and may even offer support for the various trading systems. Before you commit to any one broker, request free trials of their tools. Brokers generally provide technical as well as fundamental commentaries, economic calendars, and other research to help you make good trades. Shop around until you find a broker who will give you what you need to succeed. The next item that you will need to evaluate carefully is the number of leverage options your potential broker has. Leverage is a necessity in FOREX trading because the price deviations in the currencies are set at fractions of a cent. Leverage is expressed as a ratio between the total capital that is available to be traded and your actual capital. For example, when you have a ratio of 100:1, your broker will lend you $100 for every $1 of actual capital you have. Many brokerage firms will offer you as much as 250:1. If you have low levels of capital you will need a brokerage with high levels of leverage to make reasonable profits. If capital is not a problem, any broker that has a wide variety of leverage options would be a good choice for you. A variety of options will let you vary the amount of risk you choose to take. For example, less leverage (and therefore less risk) may be preferable if you are dealing with highly volatile (exotic) currency pairs. Along with different levels of leverage, look for brokers that offer different types of accounts. Many brokers will offer you two or more types. The smallest account is known as a mini account and it requires you to trade with a minimum of around $300. The mini account also generally offers a high amount of leverage. The standard account allows you to trade at a variety of different leverages, but it requires minimum initial capital of $2,000. And finally, there are premium accounts, which often require significant amounts of capital. They also generally have different levels of leverage available to the traders who use them, and often offer additional tools and services. You will need to make sure that the broker you choose has the right leverage, tools, and services for the amount of capital that you are able to work with.

You can capitalize on many benefits when you learn forex trading. The availability of a 24-hour a day market is one. Since forex involves the trade of currency at banks across the globe, the market never closes. The market is also remarkably liquid, meaning that you will never have trouble finding trading partners. Since most of your trading partners are banks and the medium is cash, you will never be at a loss for customers. Another benefit is the lack of commissions. Since you make the trades on your own, you don't have to spend part of your profit on brokerage commission fees. Taking the time to learn forex trading opens one more investment door for you. As you continue to realize the importance of diversifying your investment portfolio, it may be a good idea to begin looking at what kinds of opportunities are available to you in foreign exchange trading. Online FOREX Trading - Become a Successful Forex Trader in Two Weeks! by sacha tarkovsky
One of the most inspiring stories I ever read, was how legendary trader Richard Dennis taught 14 people who had never traded before, to trade successfully in just two weeks. The result? They traded and went on to make millions and become some of the most famous traders of all time.So how was it done and can you do the same? Let\'s find out.Richard Dennis taught them three major points:1. A simple method they could have confidence in.2. Money management. 3. Applying the method with discipline. His advice was very specific with no filler. So, let\'s look at what you need to learn.1. MethodYou need a method you have confidence in and it needs to be simple. There is no correlation between how complicated a method is and how much money it makes. In fact, the reverse is true.A complicated method has more components to break and is less robust in the face of brutal market conditions.Look up "technical analysis" on the net and learn specifically how and why it works and also the theory of "trading breakouts"You should be using a long term trend following methodology looking for the big trends that produce the big profits and breakout trading is ideal for this.If you want to win at online forex trading, you need to know about breakouts.Base your methodology on it - It\'s simple and it works. Now you need to time entries.Look at some indicators that are based on momentum and look up "stochastics" this is simply the best momentum indicator you can use.2. Money ManagementIf you start with a "breakout method" and base your trading method on it, then stop placement is obvious. If you only trade significant breaks your odds of success will be high.3. DisciplineIs perhaps the hardest part of trading online forex. You need to apply your method with rigid discipline otherwise you have no method at all.Discipline is all about experience and even seasoned traders find it hard to keep executing a method when a string of losses occur. However, you are part of the way there to having discipline, if you have devised your own method. You know its logic and should be able to stay with it as you will have confidence in it to work. All the material you need to get up and running is free and on the internet, but it\'s worth reading a few books. These are my favorites and will they inspire you.1. Market Wizards and The New Market Wizards ( edit )By Jack Shwager. These are interviews with some of the top traders of all time including:Richard Dennis and the turtles and many more - Packed with insight and very inspiring.2. Trader VicBy Victor Sperandeo.A true trading legend, who shares with us his thoughts on trading, money management and trading psychology, a fantastic all round book.By all means read a few more, but these three are my favorites from over 500 I have read.Trading is Simple, yet people try and complicate it.They think the more effort they put in the more they will get out - This is totally false.Work smart not hard!If you want to make money you need to work smart not hard and if you want a perfect example of this look at the turtles! In just two weeks they all became great traders.Maybe, you wont make as much money as them, but if you learn and do the above, you will have the basic platform to make big profits in online forex trading. Finally, you will have done it all on your own and will have given yourself success, how satisfying is that?

EVOLUTION OF A TRADER
Every Trader goes through the following stages of evolution:1) Basic market reading - is the market going up or down? Note, that at this stage, very few people think of the third possibility.....that the market could be going sideways2) Setting targets for the envisaged move - During this stage the person is happy if the market moves in the envisaged direction and even if the market comes just close to the target but misses it3) Getting to know all the scores and scores of Technical Indicators and tools, thinking that knowing the tools is the secret of successful trading.During this period, the person is focussed on "being right", the mentality is "me against the market", or even, "my forecast is better than yours". The person trades during this period, experiencing both profits and losses, but consistent profits elude her. She is happy every time there is a profit, no matter if it be small and tends to forget about the lossesSlowly, the Trader moves onto the next plane of evolution, wherein:1) She starts to think about various possible scenarios....and starts to think in terms of "If-Then-Else"2) She starts to think in terms of Probability....what are the chances of the IF or the THEN or the ELSE happening3) Starts to think in terms of Risk-RewardHaving mastered this higher plane, the Trader can then move on to the next plane1) Thinking in terms of strategy2) Managing multiple positionsAll of this takes time, TWO years at the minimum. During this period, one should trade as small as one can, alternating one month of Real trades with one month of Paper trades and so on.Learning to trade FX is not the same as learning to ride a bicycle or learning how to swim. Online Currency Trading and the FOREX Market - A Flexible Alternative to Commodity Trading
Online currency trading is all done through the Foreign Exchange or FOREX. It is the largest market in the world with about $1.9 trillion going into different hands everyday. Unlike all other financial markets on the planet, FOREX doesn't actually have an actual physical location. That is because it is all done on the Internet and through banks with individuals trading their local currency for another. Or, if they have come back from a different country, then they might be changing from that currency into their home currency. Because FOREX is all based on the Internet, you can use online currency trading services to work within the market 24 hours a day.But to be able to use the FOREX service, you have to sign yourself up to one of the many companies that offer FOREX trading accounts to customers. You can open an account with any one of the hundreds of companies available; and then immediately begin trading currencies. You will not want to use this service if you only exchange currency once a year, as you can do that at your local bank. Although this choice of account is available, large corporations mostly use online currency trading and they are the ones that will use this service the most. Also, on these online currency trading websites, you will get up to minute exchange rates from all over the world, so you will know the exact amount that you will get from your money. This also enables you to know the best time to use the online currency trading services. When the rates are just right for you, then that is when you can exchange your money. However, it is important to note that some currency trading companies will need two days advance notice before you withdraw your money, so it is always wise to plan ahead if your goal is to make money with FOREX trading then use that money to pay bills or to pay for living expenses.
What Is Online FOREX Currency Trading?
Currency trading has grown dramatically over the past 10 years and that then paved the way for companies to set up online currency trading. All of these companies use Forex-or the "Foreign Exchange"; they offer their customers--both new and old--a safe and secure place to make online currency trades. When you decide to use trade on the Forex, you will have a number of companies to pick between, all of which will provide you with different tools and resources. What is Forex?
The Global Forex market is one of the largest markets in the world in terms of daily volume. Its trade volume varies from 1 to 3 trillion USD every day, which is 6-8 times higher than the volume in the stock exchange worldwide. The commodies traded on Forex are national currencies. The Forex market enables exporters and importers to engage in international trade, banks and financial institutions to provide sophisticated financial services, governments to implement policies, and tourists to travel. In essence, it is a truly global market, which operates around-the-clock and around-the-globe. The global nature of the Forex market, utilizing modern information technologies and financial services, enables private investors to participate in the market from their homes or offices via telephone or computer.Return to Questions About Forex TradingHow does Forex work? The Forex market is nowhere and everywhere. There is no central place where market players execute trades. Instead, Forex is comprised of currency transactions between banks, investment funds, Forex brokers and traders. Currency supply and demand and investors' expectations determine the market price of a currency. Some currencies also come under significant influence from Central Banks. The Forex market is a virtual market, which means that it is not followed by a physical delivery of currency.Return to Questions About Forex TradingWhat is the role of Forex Club?Forex Club is a broker, which monitors global currency prices and delivers quotes to its clients via the Trading Terminal software. Its clients may buy or sell all major currencies. In addition, the clients of Forex Club are supplied with informational support, market analysis and learning materials. Forex Club does not charge any commission for its services. It is compensated for its work via a spread (which is a difference between purchasing and sell price of currencies).Return to Questions About Forex TradingIs the Forex market risky?Forex is sometimes described as one of the riskiest financial markets. However, the volatility of currencies rarely exceeds 1-1.5% per day and risks are only high when unreasonable leverage is used. By choosing the leverage size traders actually determine their risks themselves. We do not recommend our clients use leverage higher than 1:5. The Forex market is a highly speculative market. Hence, the ability to analyze price bahavior becomes an invalubale asset for any trader.Return to Questions About Forex TradingHow does one analyze Forex? In essence, analyzing the Forex market requires understanding price movement on financial markets. There are two types of analysis used in the financial markets: "fundamental" and "technical". While technical analysis gives the trader a grasp of patterns of movement in the market, fundamental analysis explains the reasons behind movements in the market and attempts to predict changes in price and market trends. A fundamental analysis takes into account the economic conditions of the countries whose currencies he or she trades, follows political events and trends in the world, and reacts to emergency news. Whatever method you prefer, the reality is that it has become increasingly difficult to be a purist of either persuasion. Fundamentalists need to follow the various signals derived from the changes in price on charts, while few technicians can afford to completely shrug off incoming economic data or critical political decisions. For example, if one looks at the chart that shows EUR/USD moves over the recent war in Iraq, it becomes obvious that victories of the Coalition forces meant a stronger Dollar and a weaker Euro. Conversely, military failures resulted in a decline of the American currency, and a strengthened Euro.Return to Questions About Forex TradingWhat is technical analysis? If there were a direct relationship between the fundamentals of a currency and its price, then life would be much simpler. But the price of anything and everything represents a consensus; an agreement. The price of something is merely that at which one person agrees to buy and one person agrees to sell. The price at which a trader agrees to buy or sell depends mainly on his expectations. If he expects the price to rise he will buy, and if he expects the price to fall he will sell. The market is made up of millions of active traders all continually expressing their expectations through trades. The history of price action is therefore a history of traders' expectations. Through a methodical analysis of the mapping of price action, it is possible to make an informed forecast of future price action. This is the core of Technical Analysis.Technical analysis is a method of forecasting price movements by looking at purely market-generated data. The tools of technical analysts are price charts and graphs. The method is based on three postulates. All market fundamentals are inherent in the actual market data. The market takes everything into account. Price movements mirror market participants, moods, interests, and opinions on further currency dynamics. Prices move in trends. In other words, technical analysis assumes that price fluctuations are not random or unpredictable. There are three possible trends: up, down or sideways. History repeats itself and therefore markets move in fairly predictable patterns. The goal of technical analysis is to uncover the patterns given off in a current market by examining past market patterns, often designated as signals. The primary tool of technical analysis is the chart and it is dedicated to identifying the patterns and trends of prices. These patterns and trends are then projected into future time to enable the trader to make informed decisions based on calculated risk. Technical analysis does not guarantee success, but a methodical application of its principles may improve your performance as a trader.Return to Questions About Forex TradingWhat is fundamental analysis? The entry "Fundamental Analysis" into your search engine will yield over a million results. Fundamental Analysis was first used to identify under or over-valued companies and forecast and profit from future price movements on the stock market. To take a fundamental approach on the Forex market you should view a country as if it were a company and consider the underlying forces affecting the country's economy. This fundamentalist approach is informed by a wide range of elements. Let's consider the currency of country "X". A Fundamentalist would analyze economic indicators (Interest rate; Employment figures and GDP to name but a few) as well as government policy (is the government right or left leaning; how secure the government's tenure is; the geo-political pressures on the government, etc.) and societal pressures (are the people "spenders" or "savers"? How do they perceive country X's economy and its economic institutions?) The information both pertinent and available is a vast ever-changing mosaic and it is impossible to keep on top of everything simultaneously. The first thing to remember is that the more you research and the more you learn, the more you will understand the subtle dynamic of the market. The second thing to do is to choose which indicators you feel are most indicative of price action. The only way to make a measured choice is to research and to listen to and learn from more experienced traders.News of economic indicators is released at set times and has a marked effect on the behavior of traders on the market, so an ignorance of these indictors would make the moves of the market completely inexplicable. It is important, therefore, to know when news is going to be announced and what the implications of the news are. Keep fully informed using the wealth of information available on the Internet. Visit the sites of the Central banks of the currencies you are considering (see the Links page), access their calendars of Economic Indicators and develop a clear idea of what economic information is about to be released and how it will affect the currency. Forex Club's internet trading platform, IDSystem, provides a constant flow of real-time, up-to-the-minute financial news from Dow Jones Newswires directly to your trading screen, equipping you to devise sound, informed trading strategies. The two services available are Dow Jones Business News and Dow Jones Money News. These services are available to Forex Club clients absolutely free-of-charge.Fundamental Analysis is generally held to be an effective method of forecasting economic conditions, but is less precise when it comes to outlining a profitable trading strategy. A trader has to derive his or her own responsive strategy. Bear in mind, also, that not only are the figures themselves important but also how these figures influence expectations. One major difference between fundamental analysis on the stock market and fundamental analysis on the Forex market is that on the Forex market you have to consider two currencies, as there are two sides to every trade.Return to Questions About Forex TradingHow is the Forex market different from the stock market? As a result of its global dimension, the Forex market is open 24 hours a day, which enables investors to correct their positions at any point in time. Given the large number of players, the Forex market has narrow spreads and virtually no price gaps. The lack of price gaps enables investors to count on non-slippage order execution. However, in a very volatile market the possibility for slippage exists. The large volume of participants also reduces opportunity for insider information. To put it simply, there has never been a case of complete currency collapse in a developed country. The volatility of leading currencies rarely exceeds 1% per day, in contrast to the volatility of stocks, which may fluctuate by up to 10% over one trading session. The Forex market generally provides more opportunities for leveraged trading (although a higher leverage size is associated with higher risks).
